Working Together

Meaningful change rarely happens alone. Maisha Bora works alongside communities, organizations, and systems to strengthen understanding, communication, trust, and relationships.

Who We Work With

Our partners may be rooted in African and African Diaspora communities, serve those communities, or work within systems that affect their everyday lives.

We work with community associations, cultural organizations, and immigrant- and refugee-led groups, as well as faith communities, schools, healthcare and social service organizations, legal teams, courts, child-serving organizations, government agencies, employers, nonprofits, and other institutions.

Community organizations bring knowledge, relationships, experience, and insight that are essential to meaningful partnership.

What Partnership Can Create

Greater Understanding
Organizations gain a deeper understanding of the experiences, expectations, and perspectives of the communities they serve.

Stronger Relationships
Communities and institutions have opportunities to build relationships before challenges become barriers to connection.

Better Communication
People are better able to understand one another when language, culture, context, and lived experience are part of the conversation.

Why Partnership Matters

African and African Diaspora communities bring knowledge, experience, relationships, and strengths that can help shape the services and systems that affect their lives.

Organizations, in turn, bring resources, expertise, and opportunities for change. Partnership creates space for both to learn from one another and work together effectively.
